GCSE Success for Beech Hall School Pupils

Beech Hall School is celebrating the achievements of its pupils today (20 August), as they proudly collect their well-deserved GCSE results.

The Tytherington-based school has applauded the efforts of its hardworking pupils, as an overall pass rate of 85% has been achieved, with an outstanding 95% pass rate in English Language and 90% in Maths. The school also boasts remarkable 100% pass rates in English Literature, Art, Biology, Design Technology, German, Music and Spanish.

Significantly, 50% of pupils attained some of the highest grades of 7 or above. In addition, Beech Hall School recorded a remarkable value-added score of +4.1 with many pupils exceeding their predicted outcomes by an average of 4 GCSE grades based on baseline assessment data.

Following their accomplishments, pupils will now fulfil their aspirations as they progress to leading sixth form centres and colleges throughout the region, including Beech Hall School.

Among this year’s high achievers is Thane Mackintosh, who sat his Mathematics GCSE a year early in Year 10, securing a grade 9.

Departing Head Boy Austin O’Connor, 16, is also celebrating his results and looking ahead to an exciting next step. Austin has secured a golf apprenticeship at Prestbury Golf Club, alongside his role as Junior Captain at Macclesfield Golf Club, where he currently plays off an impressive handicap of 1.2.

Beech Hall School is a non-selective independent school for children aged 4 to 18 years. It is situated in a beautiful sixteen-acre site on the edge of the Peak District, housing two listed buildings, playing fields and a swimming pool.
