Former Chief Executive of award-winning Cheshire charity The End of Life Partnership (EOLP) Salli Jeynes has been honoured with a prestigious lifetime achievement award.
The former nurse was one of three long-serving healthcare heroes to be recognised at the glittering Our Health Heroes Awards held in London.
Accepting her award for “Outstanding Lifetime Contribution to Healthcare”, Salli said:
"I am deeply honoured to receive this prestigious award acknowledging my lifelong dedication to the field of healthcare, being nominated by colleagues is, in itself, humbling. This award not only reflects my personal commitment, but also highlights the incredible work of the entire team at EOLP and those I have worked with throughout my career. Thanks to everyone who voted for me.”
Salli joined the NHS when she was 18, becoming CEO and co-founder of EOLP, after a wealth of experience working for, amongst others Cheshire Hospices Education (CHE), a charity based at St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice in Winsford, that worked in partnership with hospices in the county to provide palliative care education for health and social care professionals.
EOLP works with the NHS to enable the delivery of a more holistic approach to living well, care, death and loss through public awareness and community engagement, education and training for the health and social care workforce.
Congratulating Salli on the award Danny Mortimer, Chief Executive of category sponsors NHS Employers said: “NHS Employers is proud to support the Our Health Heroes Awards Outstanding Lifetime Contribution to Healthcare category for 2023. I would like to pass on my sincere congratulations to all the winners of this year’s awards and to thank them for their contribution to the NHS. It is great that we can recognise the efforts of these individuals and teams through these awards and to celebrate the huge difference they make to patient care.”
