LOCAL SCHOOL PUPILS TAKE A MUDDY BOOTS VISIT TO NEW COMMUNITY IN MIDDLEWICH

A group of lucky year five pupils from Middlewich Primary School, visited the site of McCarthy Stone’s forthcoming Retirement Living development, Roman Court in Middlewich this week, for a lesson on all things site safety and most importantly what is being created so close to their school.

The children of Middlewich Primary School were invited along to Roman Court by McCarthy Stone Site Manager, Sadeem Khan, and Assistant Site Manager, Jason Carter, for a muddy boots visit where the children could ask all their burning questions about the building process and why and who the development is being created for.

McCarthy Stone welcomed the children of Middlewich Primary School to watch the activities taking place on site from the safety of the viewing platform. The children, who are currently studying structures in their Design and Technology lessons, also took part in a Q&A session with Sadeem and Jason where they asked plenty of questions about the role of working on a construction site. As part of the school’s visit, the children also got try their hand at putting their skills to the test in practicing how to lay a brick, while a few tried their hand at slinging a tub of mortar with the crane over the radio.

As part of Middlewich Primary School’s visit to Roman Court, Sadeem and Jason hosted a colouring competition of construction drawings where the best ones were selected to be laminated and put on the hoardings around the development site.

Sadeem Khan, Site Manager for Roman Court said: “When we chose to build in Middlewich, we knew we wanted to build strong relationships with the local schools and businesses in the area. It was great to host the children of Middlewich Primary School and to teach them all about the materials we are using here, and how important it is to follow the safety precautions when on site.

“The children asked plenty of fascinating questions and were mesmerised by getting to see the crane in action. The children clearly have a lot of pre-existing knowledge from their work on structures in school, I think we’re looking at the next generation of local builders and architects. We hope to invite the school back for a tour once Roman Court is complete and we look forward to acquainting them with some of our newest homeowners.”

Paul Taziker, the Year Five teacher at Middlewich Primary School, added: “The children were excited to pay a visit to the upcoming McCarthy Stone development that is being built nearby. In fact, many of the children had already asked questions about the Roman Court development as most pass the site on their journey to and from school each day, so it was great for them to learn all about the development.

“Our muddy boots visit was very insightful, and the children learnt important lessons about the construction industry and how McCarthy Stone is enhancing the lives of older people. We would like to thank both Sadeem and Jason for their time.”

The new McCarthy Stone development Roman Court will include 20 luxury one-bedroom and 30 two-bedroom retirement properties and will have much to offer over-60s looking for a hassle-free retirement and the opportunity to maintain an independent lifestyle, while having access to shared facilities. This includes a communal lounge that will regularly host events, landscaped gardens and a guest suite for when family and friends come to stay.

Well known for the three canals that run through its entre, Middlewich is a charming town in the heart of leafy Cheshire. The development itself is located right on Wheelock Street, which is home to a number of shops, cafes and bars. The nearby towns of Northwich and Knutsford also have plenty to offer. A bustling market town with a rich history and ties to the salt industry, Northwich is a great place for a day out.

More than nine out of 10 customers would recommend McCarthy Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 16 years’ running. McCarthy Stone is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade for 16 consecutive years, which is every year the awards have been run.
