Detectives from Northwich CID have charged a man from Blackburn in relation to the theft of cigarettes from delivery vehicles.
Peter McDonagh was arrested on Monday 5 June in relation to the theft of approximately £18,000 worth of cigarettes from three delivery vehicles in Cheshire.
The 31-year-old, of Devon Road, Blackburn, has since been charged with three counts of theft from a motor vehicle.
The charges relate to the following incidents –
- 17 January 2023 – Theft from a vehicle on Northwich Road, Weaverham
- 3 February 2023 – Theft from a vehicle near to junction 11 on the M56 at Daresbury
- 7 February 2023 – Theft from a vehicle on Manchester Road, Northwich
McDonagh has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday 6 June.
