A 34-year-old man has been jailed after police found cocaine hidden in a glasses case.
Simon West, from Bankside Court in Alsager, appeared at Chester Crown Court on 16th September to be sentenced after admitting to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and being concerned in the supply of a controlled Class B drug (cannabis) at an earlier hearing.
West was sentenced to 45 months in prison.
He came to police attention in Alsager on 1st July 2023 when he attempted to flee the scene and was stopped by police. He was then arrested on suspicion of drink driving after failing a roadside breath test.
While under arrest, officers searched him and found the glasses case containing six wraps of cocaine, which he said we for his personal use with friends.
A search was then conducted at his address and officers found cannabis bud in the kitchen cupboard, and an Oxy Active tub on the kitchen worktop containing £1,985 in notes along with £15.26 in coins. They also found weighing scales and snap bags.
He was dealt with for the drink driving offence by being disqualified from driving.

“That’s another drug dealer and their illegal drugs off the streets following a successful stop and search. We’re out there 24/7 making these arrests and will continue to do so to help keep residents safe. I hope this causes others thinking of selling illegal drugs in our community to think twice.”
