MP Welcomes New Chief Executive To North Cheshire Chamber Of Commerce

Macclesfield’s MP, David Rutley, recently met Terry Hayward, new Chief Executive of the North Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, to welcome him into post and to discuss local priorities for the Chamber’s members.

The key initiatives discussed included supporting local businesses during the post-pandemic recovery, tackling cost pressures, regenerating the town centre and providing much-needed advice to small and medium sized businesses.

Mr Hayward joins the Chamber with over 25 years’ worth of experience in business. Starting his professional career in the Metropolitan Police for 11 years, he then went on to be the Director of World Challenge, a market leading adventure travel business. Following this, Mr Hayward established Everyday Hero in Macclesfield, providing fundraising solutions to the not-for-profit sector. Since then, he has provided consultancy support for businesses until his appointment to the Chamber in April.

The North Cheshire Chamber of Commerce provides business services and marketing opportunities for its members to grow. With many members, the Chamber reflects the diverse nature of the local economy, with a variety of businesses, from start-ups and sole traders to multi-national corporations.

The last two years have been challenging for local businesses but with the easing of restrictions, Mr Hayward is planning how new and existing members of the Chamber will be able to benefit from the advice and support available to help sustain and grow the local economy. Over the coming weeks several Meet the Chamber networking events will be hosted, with the first on Friday 20th May at Cottons Hotel and Spa.

The Chamber of Commerce is located at 9 King Edward Street, Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK10 1AQ and further information on membership and events can be found on the following website:

Speaking after the meeting, David said, “It was a pleasure to meet with Terry and hear about his aims for the North Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, as we work to move on from the pandemic. The Chamber of Commerce provides key support and advice for businesses, and it is great to see so many members are already benefiting from this. I wish Terry every success his new position, and I look forward to working with him on local priorities over the months ahead.”
