Cheshire West and Chester Council and Cheshire Dance have confirmed the return of the dance and street arts festival, Now Northwich for Saturday 30 April 2022.
Community recovery and renewal has been at the heart of decision-making to prioritise the return of this much loved and widely supported festival amidst the challenging circumstances brought about by the pandemic.
Now Northwich has become a headline event in the town’s calendar, welcoming visitors from far afield since its inception in 2018 families, friends, whole communities alongside local businesses based in and around the town have made the festival their own.
Councillor Louise Gittins, Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council said: “Northwich has been graced with walking dinosaurs, a parade of giant insects, a spaceman, dance and music. The festival promised ‘expect the unexpected’ and that’s exactly what it has delivered.
“The pandemic has sadly prevented a festival this year but that just gives us all something to look forward to next April. There are no details about the festival programme yet but I’m sure there will be a few teasers later in the year to get us ready.”
Adam Holloway, Director of Cheshire Dance, the festival producers said: “The scene is set. The first two Now Northwich events will be a hard act to follow but we’ve been working hard over the last few months to create something special for next April. In the meantime, we’ll be out and about working with communities across the locality, reconnecting, supporting recovery and preparing for the event.
“We’re grateful for the support of our festival partners including Cheshire West and Chester Council, Arts Council England, Northwich Town Council, Northwich BID, Barons Quay, Council Members and the local Rotary Clubs.
“Finally, I’d like to re-assure everyone that every effort will be made to adapt this event to any COVID-related restrictions necessary in the run up and during the festival so that we all feel safe.”
