Online survey offers chance to shape economic blueprint for Cheshire and Warrington

Cheshire and Warrington residents and businesses are being urged to help shape a blueprint that aims to ensure the region boasts “the UK’s healthiest, most sustainable, inclusive and growing economy”.

Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership is working closely with the region’s local authorities to develop a new Sustainable & Inclusive Economic Plan that maximises investment and ensures the region is an even more attractive place to live and work.

Using the latest data and evidence, the fresh economic plan aims to reflect emerging trends and a changing world ranging from the war in Ukraine to Brexit, Levelling Up and the pandemic.

It also considers other factors such as high inflation, energy prices, Net Zero, supply chain and skills/labour shortages.

But crucially it is also being driven by the insights and aspirations of communities across the region.

And today people were urged to take an online survey to help shape the blueprint built around the LEP’s unwavering commitment to help Cheshire and Warrington become “the UK’s healthiest, most sustainable, inclusive and growing economy by 2045”.

Following a series of engagement workshops held earlier this year and hosted by Warrington Borough Council, Cheshire East Council and Cheshire West and Chester Council in their respective areas, people are now being given a chance to contribute online.

The short survey can be taken anonymously with questions ranging from thoughts on emerging trends to inclusion and sustainability.

The feedback will allow the LEP and partners to bolster its understanding of the diverse needs and aspirations of communities across the region and ensure it delivers on broader economic priorities and benefits everyone from residents and businesses to communities and employees.

People have between now and October 31 to take the survey which can be accessed HERE.

Formal consultation on the new Sustainable & Inclusive Economic Plan will follow and is likely to begin next year.

The survey comes amid Cheshire and Warrington LEP preparations for an Economic Conference at Jodrell Bank between 9.30am and 1pm on Wednesday, October 18.

It will include industry panels discussing how the region can deliver business growth and sustainability and an inclusive and healthy economy.
