Residents urged to be vigilant following spate of thefts from vehicles in Northwich

Officers are warning residents in Northwich to remain vigilant and ensure their vehicles are secure following a spate of thefts from vehicles in the town.

Over the recent days, police have been called to a number of reports of thefts from insecure motor vehicles and garages in the Winnington area.

These include incidents on Alderley Road, Penrhyn Road, Woodlea Court, Foxendale Close and Blossom Heights.

A number of items have been stolen, including a large quantity of cash.

Police Constable Daniel Lee of Northwich Proactive CID said:

“This investigation is in the early stages, and we’re committed to doing all that we can to trace the people responsible.

“From our initial enquiries we believe that thefts were all conducted by two to three men who have been attempting to access insecure vehicles and garages in the Moss Road and Firdale Park area.

“Enquiries are ongoing and as part of our investigation we’re asking residents in the area to check their CCTV and doorbell footage to see if they have any video footage which may aid our investigation.

“We’re also urging residents in the area to make sure their vehicles are garages are kept secure at all times.”
