Detectives continuing to investigate a sexual assault in Crewe have released a further CCTV image of a witness they would like to speak to.
At around 1.50am on 2 October, a woman, aged in her 30s, was walking along Market Street when she was approached by a man.
He spoke to the woman and walked along Delamere Street with her before pushing and assaulting her.
The victim managed to fight off the man and scratched his face before calling police.
She did not sustain any injuries.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and detectives have now issued an image of a man who they believe may have witnessed the assault.
Detective Constable Jayne Lloyd said: “We have been working on information following our previous appeals for assistance in relation to this case and have now identified a man who we believe will be able to help us.
“I want to stress that this man is not suspected of any wrongdoing but we really want to speak to him as we think he could have vital information to assist our investigation.
"I would also just once again like to appeal to the community and ask them to cast their minds back and think if they believe they may have seen something that didn’t look quite right, if this is the case, please get in touch.
“The same goes to anyone who may believe that they have information that we may not be aware of.”
