Knutsfordians are being encouraged to celebrate their town centre with Shop Local Saturday on 31st July with free parking, 200 goody bags up for grabs, the launch of a Knutsford loyalty card and singing from local choir Knutsford Beats.
The event was originally planned for 26th June but was re-arranged in accordance with government guidelines.
The Knutsford shopping bags will be handed out at locations across the town centre by volunteers from local community group Knutsford Hosts. The bags contain information about upcoming events run by Knutsford Town Council, such as Knutsford Music Festival and Taste Knutsford. There will also be freebies and discounts from a selection of retailers including Willow Boutiques, The Bath House, Roberta Beauty Redefined, Cranford Café, Pulse of Perfumery, Tatton Brewery, Bare Necessities, Nicholas Austen, and Lockton’s Hairdressers. One bag will also contain a golden envelope containing £50 of Knutsford Vouchers to spend.
In addition, each bag will contain the Knutsford Loyalty Card a new scheme designed at rewarding shoppers. Shoppers will receive a stamp for each £10 spent in participating shops and once their card is completed, they can post it in the post box in Little Waitrose on Princess Street. A prize draw will take place each quarter for a chance to win £50 of Knutsford vouchers. So far, the shops signed up include Evuna, Roberta Beauty Redefined, Cranford Café, Serenity Designs, Riva Menswear, Hal Whittaker, Mr Simms, and Lockton’s Hairdressing.
Knutsford Beats will be singing from 11.30am in Regent Street. Choir Director, Diane Healy said, “This will be our first town centre performance since 2019 and what a lovely way to kick off what will hopefully be the first of many events. If you are out and about on 26th June, please do not forget to visit Regent Street. It starts at 11.30 am and we have a fabulous mix of songs so there is something for everyone!”
There will also be free parking from 10am in Silk Mill, King and Princess Street car parks.
Sandra Curties, Knutsford Town Council’s Town Centre, and Marketing Officer, said, “We hope to see lots of people shopping locally on 31st July, discovering the range of products you can buy in our town – from candles to fire guards to houseplants and lightbulbs as well as listening to some tunes, picking up a goody bag and possibly winning £50 of vouchers!”
