The Macclesfield Beer Festival 2020 is to be postponed until later in the year, due to the Coronavirus.
The event was due to take place on the Bank Holiday weekend of 8th - 9th May.
Festival organisers have said that “After much discussion, we have had to make the decision to postpone the beer festival until later in the year due to the risk of Coronavirus. We aren’t the first and sadly wont be the last to do this.
“Although the number of cases in Cheshire is very low, there is great uncertainty as to what measures will be put in place to battle the outbreak.”
“As a charity event, raising money for a great local cause, we cannot take the risk of losing money that should be going to a charity.
“This is just a postponement and we will be working extra hard to make sure we can bring you a fantastic autumn event with all the great beers, fantastic food and live music that you would expect from Macclesfield Beer Festival!
“Take care of yourselves, keep washing your hands, don’t panic buy, join us in giving Coronavirus the (clean) finger!
“We will see you in the autumn!”
