The latest Job Retention Scheme figures have been released and there's a call to action for employers to claim by midnight tonight.
On 20 April, we launched the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. Between launch and midnight on 21 April we have received:
- 309,000 claims
- Covering 2.2m employees*
- Amounting to £2.6bn
* these are rounded figures and some people may be included more than once if they’ve been furloughed for more than one pay day or have more than one furloughed job.
For employers to get their payments by 30 April they need to make a claim by midnight tonight (Wednesday 22 April) as it takes 6 working days to process claims. Further guidance is available and there is an easy to use, step-by-step guide that takes you through the process.
