Andy McCluskey is the co-founder and lead singer with Orchestral Manoevures in the Dark.

The band were formed on the Wirral, back in 1978, and were given their big break supporting Gary Numan on his first UK Tour, one year later.

They have sold 25 million singles and 15 million albums worldwide and have spent over 200 weeks in the UK Charts.

They are said to have inspired the likes of  A-Ha, China Crisis, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Howard Jones, New Order, Pet Shop Boys and Tears for Fears.

The group has been acclaimed by Phil Oakey, from the Human League, and Tom Bailey, from The Thompson Twins.

Gary Numan said that they are responsible for "some of the best songs ever written".

Dave Phillips spoke to Andy McCluskey recently and asked him about the group's long and amazing history.
