Leo was given a school project in October to complete about endangered animals. Leo has focused on discussing the impact palm oil production has on Orangutans and their rainforest habitat and what we can do to save them.
The orangutan population falls by 25 every day. The rainforests that they inhabit are being destroyed to make way for palm oil plantations, putting the orangutan population under serious threat. A football pitched sized area of the rainforest is lost every 6 seconds. Orangutans are critically endangered. If the orangutan population continues to decrease at this rate, over the next 20 years, Orangutans will become EXTINCT.
As part of his school project, Leo would like to raise funds to help save the rainforest and the Orangutans from extinction. Leo's goal is to raise £25 to represent the 25 orangutans lost every day. In return, Leo will sit in a Orange 'Gelli' Bath and become an oran'goo'tan!
