Having discovered Muay Thai 4 years ago at the age of 38, and have worked my way up to a ranking of UK number 8 in my weight division, of which I hope to move further up the rankings this year.
I have achieved this despite being constantly criticised, doubted, bullied emotionally, verbally and at times physically. Although I have experienced some negative aspects, I believe this has made me stronger and more determined and I have also experienced first hand the positive effects this sport has had on me and my peers, not only physically, but mentally as well. This sport has changed my life in so many ways and I want to share my passion for it with adults and children alike in order to promote a healthy lifestyle by doing something that is good for you both mentally and physically.

With the increasing pressures of modern life and the many distractions most people face on a day-to-day basis, it’s easy for people to neglect the necessary effort and attention needed to maintain peak mental wellbeing. I am hoping these classes will give women the opportunity to enhance both their physical and mental wellbeing on a regular basis and disconnect from the madness that distracts many people daily.
I also know how intimidating it can be walking into a gym or a fitness class for the first time and I don’t ever want anyone to have to go through what I have had to endure. With this in mind I have set up Women’s only classes in Stockport, Alderley Edge and hopefully soon in Macclesfield. A friendly, fun environment where women can meet other like minded people without the fear of being hurt or criticised.
I’m not sure if you ever do Radio Interviews on your station for things like this but if you do I would love the opportunity to be considered for this.
These fitness classes are loosely based on Muay Thai and Boxing techniques and there will be minimal contact with the exception of attendees holding pads for one another.
