Officers have charged a man in connection with a number of offences following an incident at an address in Alsager.
Sebastian Elgie, of Englesea Way, Alsager, was arrested on Wednesday 9th August.
He has since been charged with a number of offences including assault by beating, assault causing actually bodily harm, intentional strangulation and criminal damage.
The 29-year-old has been remanded in custody to appear at Chester Crown Court on Thursday 7th September.
