Officers are appealing for information and dashcam footage from the public following the death of a man in Nantwich.
At approximately 11.20am on Friday 14 December officers were called to reports of an incident on the A51 Nantwich Bypass.
Officers attended the scene and found that a man had become trapped under a HGV.
North West Ambulance Service attended and sadly the man, 76-year-old John Huntbach from Nantwich, was pronounced dead at the scene.
John’s next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by specialist officers.
A joint police and Health and Safety Executive investigation into the cause of the incident is currently ongoing.
As part of the investigation officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any dashcam footage of the scene between 10.15am and 11.20am.
Following the incident John’s family released the statement below: " It is great sadness that John Huntbach died on Friday 14 December in a tragic incident.
"John was a much loved husband, dad and grandad and we ask that our privacy is respected at this difficult time."
