Officers are appealing for information from the public after a defibrillator was stolen in Macclesfield.
At around 3.30pm on Monday 11 April, a first responder performed a routine check on the defibrillator which is usually attached to a barber shop on Park Lane near to the junction of Park Green.
Once they arrived, they had found that the box containing the defibrillator had been opened and the device taken.
A number of enquiries are underway to find the missing defibrillator which could have been taken during the week commencing 7 March.
Sergeant Helen Percival said: "To steal a potentially life-saving device from a community is truly despicable and I want residents to know we are doing all we can to find the person responsible.
"Officers have been conducting enquiries in the local area and I would urge anyone who may have noticed anyone acting suspiciously around the area to please get in touch.
"The same goes for anyone who may have seen someone with the device or has CCTV or dashcam footage of the area.
"Any information, no matter how big or small, could really assist us with our investigation and lead us to restore the defibrillator to the town."
