Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a road rage incident in Hartford.
Sometime between 2pm and 3pm on Friday 20th March, a 31-year-old local man was driving a silver Ford Transit van on the westbound carriageway of the A556.
As he passed over the Blue Bridge, he was undertaken by a small van, which repeatedly braked in front of him.
As they approached the Hartford traffic lights, the driver of the smaller van then stopped in the middle of the carriageway, blocking the road.
He then exited his vehicle and confronted the victim. Following a short verbal altercation, the victim was repeatedly punched in the face, causing serious injuries.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone with any information which may aid the investigation.
Detective Constable Adam Worth, of Northwich CID said:
“This was a terrifying incident for the victim, and we’re committed to doing all we can to establish exactly what took place.
“The A556 is a busy road and as part of our enquiries we are keen to hear from anyone who believed they may have witnessed the incident. The same goes for anyone with any dashcam footage which may aid the investigation.”
