Family pay tribute to "friend to many" great grandmother who died following Macclesfield collision

The family of Ann Johnson, who sadly died following a serious collision in Macclesfield, have paid tribute to her.

At 11.04am on Thursday 2nd July, police were called to reports of a collision on Black Lane in Macclesfield.

Officers attended and found there had been a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, 77-year-old Ann Johnson, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

Sadly, Ann sadly passed away on Tuesday 7th July.

Ann's family have now paid tribute to her, they said:

"Our family have been left devastated and heartbroken by the tragic events of the 2nd July. Ann was a beloved mother and mother-in-law, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother, and a friend to many whose lives she touched.

"Twice widowed, she was at her happiest helping others and her love and support will be sorely missed. Life will never be the same, however the many messages we have received are a great source of comfort and solace.

"We would like to thank everyone who helped at the scene of the accident, the Air Ambulance crew who attended and who provide such an amazing service, and lastly the staff at Manchester Royal Infirmary who were amazing to the end."
