Police investigating a serious collision in Mobberley are appealing for information, witnesses and video footage.
At around 1.35pm on Wednesday 24th September, officers in Macclesfield responded to reports of a collision in the Broadoak Lane area of Mobberley.
Attending the scene, officers found the collision involved a grey Audi Q3 that had left the carriageway and had collided with a tree.
It was later established that the driver of Audi, a 28-year-old man from Altrincham, and a two-year-old girl who was a passenger in the vehicle, had been taken to Wythenshawe Hospital by a passing member of the public.
The driver sustained injuries to his arm, but they are not thought to be life-threatening or life changing.
The two-year-old girl sustained injuries to her head and arm, having since been transferred to Manchester Children's Hospital for further treatment.
As part of their enquiries, the 28-year-old was arrested on of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in custody at this time and is assisting officers with their investigation.
As part of enquires into establishing the full circumstances of the incident, officers are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed or captured the incident itself to contact them.
Sergeant Russell Sime, of the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit, said:
“This incident has resulted in a very young child sustaining serious injuries; we are doing all we can to fully establish what occurred here.
“As part of these enquiries, I would like to ask that anyone with any information regarding the incident please come forward.
“The same goes for anyone who may have captured the vehicle involved in the collision on any dashcams or CCTV cameras.”
