Officers are appealing for information following the theft of survey equipment from a van in Handforth.
Sometime between 4.45pm and 5.30pm on Tuesday 11 February, a white Peugeot van was broken into near the Handforth Bypass.
Surveying equipment – a Trimble S6 Robotic Total Station and a Trimble R8 GNSS - were both taken during the incident.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
Constable Mark Stringer, of Macclesfield Local Policing Unit, said: “The equipment taken is worth a considerable amount of money and we are eager to track down those responsible and bring them to justice.
"We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been offered the equipment following the break-in or perhaps may have seen the equipment for sale to get in touch with Macclesfield LPU."
Anyone with information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 634927 or via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/ro/report/
Alternatively, information can be passed on to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or report it via https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/forms/give-information-anonymously
