Detectives investigating an assault in Winsford are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
At 12.53am on Friday 12 January, police were called to reports of a disturbance in Brecon Way, Winsford.
The reports stated a group of people were fighting in the street.
Officers attended the scene and found a 21-year-old man had been assaulted during the incident. He had suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital.
A 20-year-old man and a 40-year-old man have since been arrested on suspicion of affray.
Detective Inspector Ross Hamilton said:
“Firstly, I would like to reassure the public that this is believed to be an isolated incident and enquiries are currently ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“As part of our investigation, there will be an increased police presence in the area today as officers conduct enquiries. If anyone has any concerns, please speak to an officer.
“We would also urge anyone who witnessed what happened, saw anything suspicious around the time of the incident, or has any other information which could aid our enquiries to contact us."
