Officers investigating the attempted robbery of a motorbike in Wilmslow have issued CCTV images of five men they would like to speak to.
At around 4.40pm on Monday 17 July, a number of men entered the car park of a garage on The Paddock, Wilmslow, and attempted to steal a motorbike outside of the premises.
One of the men used an angle grinder to break the chain securing the motorbike, a Honda XL 25OS, while another blocked an exit door preventing the owner from stopping them.
When they were challenged by the owner, the men threatened him with hammers.
The men abandoned the stolen motorcycle after members of the public intervened.
Detective Constable Samantha Roberts of Macclesfield CID said:
“There are a number of enquiries underway and we are keen to locate those responsible.
“As part of our investigation, we are wanting to speak to the men in the CCTV images as we believe he may be able to help with our enquiries.
“If you recognise those responsible, please contact us.
“I would also like to appeal directly to the men in the CCTV images to get in touch."
