Yorkshire County Cricket Club come to Nantwich, on Sunday 30th July, to take on National Counties’ Cheshire CCC in one of 20 specially staged games across the country.
The ECB have paired all 20 NCCA counties against first class counties in what are promoted as 'Showcase' games.
Following the success of last year when Cheshire hosted Warwickshire at Chester, we move to Nantwich Cricket Club in 2023 to celebrate their 175th anniversary in style.
National Counties’ sides (previously ‘minor counties’) once regularly faced first class opposition in cup competitions but haven’t since Cheshire faced Hampshire in 2004.
A fun-filled day will include a demonstration of ‘All Star Cricket’ by junior members from Nantwich CC.
Admission is free and there’s plenty of parking available at the Club’s Whitehouse Lane ground and at nearby Sainsbury’s.
Date: Sunday 30 July 2023.
Match timings : 50 overs per side, start 11.00am. Innings break 2.15pm approx, end of game 6.00pm approx.
Venue: Nantwich CC

“The National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA) have really worked hard to improve the pathway between recreational and first class cricket and this a further big step forward.
Pete Babbage, Head of Cricket, Cheshire CCC: “It promises to be a fantastic family day out at a first rate venue with some real quality cricket.”
“A number of Cheshire players have progressed to first class counties over the last few years and playing against this quality of opposition can only help us.
