Cheshire East Council is working in alignment with central government guidance to support Ukraine.
Following the UK governments announcement, Ukrainian nationals will be reunited with their UK families. People in the region requiring support with this are encouraged to call the helpline on 0300 303 2785. For full details, visit:
Alongside this, an uncapped sponsored humanitarian visa route will allow sponsors, such as councils, communities or private sponsors, to bring people to the UK. They will be able to work and the sponsor would provide housing and integration support. Further information will be provided on this as soon as it is updated.
While awaiting further official UK government guidance, Cheshire East Council will not be accepting any donations but it is collating pledges of support in readiness for possible arrivals to the borough.
