Cheshire East Highways Team conquers Three Peaks for Cancer Research UK

Cheshire East Highways has handed over a cheque for almost £4,500 to Cancer Research UK, after a team of 21 took on the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge.

Staff from Cheshire East Highways, which is operated by Ringway Jacobs, successfully climbed the highest peaks in Scotland, England, and Wales over a 24-hour period in October. 

Despite the physical and mental challenges, their team spirit and support from dedicated drivers pushed them to complete the 26-mile trek.

The team’s efforts have resulted in a total of £4,493 raised for Cancer Research UK. 

To celebrate their achievement, the team presented a cheque to the mayor of Cheshire East, Councillor Marilyn Houston, and members of the Crewe and Nantwich committee of Cancer Research UK. The mayor has chosen Cancer Research UK as her charity of the year.

Dom Proud, contract director at Cheshire East Highways and one of the team members, said:

“It was an incredibly tough challenge, both physically and mentally, but the camaraderie within the team and the motivation to support such a worthy cause pushed us through.”

Cllr Houston said:

“We are so grateful to the team for their incredible achievement. Their dedication and hard work will make a real difference in the fight against cancer.”

John Pass, president of Cancer Research UK, Crewe and Nantwich, said:

“This generous donation will help fund vital research into cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. We are incredibly grateful to the team for their support.”
