A property in Northwich which was reported to have been involved in drug-related activity, anti-social behaviour, and disorder has been closed by police.
Officers from Northwich were successful in being granted a closure order for the address in Blackcroft Avenue, Barnton, on Thursday 20 July.
This comes after officers attended Crewe Magistrates’ Court on 20 July with evidence relating to the behaviour of occupants.
The order, which was carried out at around 5pm, will run for three months and during that time the occupants will need to leave the address and find alternative accommodation.
All windows and doors will be boarded up during this period.
Anyone who enters the address during that time will be committing a criminal offence and could be arrested.
PC Terry Boyle, of Northwich Local Policing Unit, said:
“I am grateful this closure order has been granted and hope it will bring reassurance to local residents and the wider community that we are committed to doing all we can to tackle this kind of behaviour.
“The address was involved in drug-related activity, anti-social behaviour, and disorder, which was bringing misery to others and is totally unacceptable.
“In order to continue to put a stop to those intent on acting in this way, I would urge anyone experiencing issues with anti-social or suspicious behaviour to get in touch via the Cheshire Police website or by calling 101.”
