Residents and organisations within Congleton Local Policing Unit (LPU), which also includes Alsager, Holmes Chapel, Middlewich and Sandbach, are being invited to a Community Conversation about £10,000 in funding for their area.
To determine what is needed locally and where funding should go, a series of Community Conversations will be held in each LPU. The first event in Congleton was held earlier this year and residents are now invited to an online follow-up event on Wednesday 19 October 2022 at 7pm. To sign up, go to:

Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, John Dwyer, has made a £90,000 commitment to support each of Cheshire’s nine policing communities with £10,000 for local projects through a new Community Cashback Fund. The fund sees money seized from criminals under the Proceeds of Crime Act reinvested into the community to improve the local area and make Cheshire a better place to live.
Police and Crime Commissioner John Dwyer said:
“I’m really pleased to be able to put the ill-gotten gains of criminals to good use in communities across Cheshire via the Community Cashback Fund, and to put the decision-making power in the hands of local residents.
“I hope to see plenty of people and organisations sign up to the next Congleton Community Conversation to have their say on how to improve their local area. Together we’re going to make Cheshire an even safer place to live, work and visit.”
The link to join the meeting will be sent to attendees two days prior to the event.
