The Knutsford Bunny Hop returned to Knutsford this Easter and has been hailed a hopping success!
The event returned on Easter Saturday for the first time in 2 years due to the pandemic. The town was humming with excitement as local families searched for eight bunnies ‘hidden’ around the town centre.
An Easter Bonnet competition took place at Mr Simms Sweet Shop on King Street, judged by the Mayor of Knutsford Cllr Stewart Gardiner. One winner and two runners up were awarded prizes from over a dozen entries of handmade easter bonnets.
Julia, owner of Mr Simms (and founder of the event), said: “Another fabulous Bunny Hop, I think it may well have been our busiest yet! The sun was shining and it was great to see all the families hunting the bunnies, picking up treats along the way. The Easter Bonnet Competition was a great hit with some excellent ideas, and I’m sure it will become a regular feature at future events!”
Face painting at Knutsford Market Hall was free for all event attendees, and chocolates and freebies were handed out by local retailers throughout the event.
Prizes for the main prize draw are drawn after the event, with winners announced live on the Town Council’s Facebook page. All winners will be contacted with details for how to collect their prizes.
Alex Brown, Events Officer at Knutsford Town Council, said: “It’s really lovely to be able to host this event again after two years off. It was great to see such a fantastic turn out and reception to the event, as lots of local families were happy to see the event return. We hope everyone had a wonderful day in the sun, and a Happy Easter!”
