
Detectives are continuing to appeal for information after a man was seriously assaulted at a pub in Northwich town centre.
At around 12.10am on Saturday 11th October, police were called to reports of an altercation at the Quayside on Witton Street.
Officers attended the scene and found that a 36-year-old local man had been seriously assaulted in the bar area.
The victim was taken to Leighton Hospital with serious head injuries. He remains in hospital at this time where his condition is currently described as stable.
A 21-year-old man from Lostock Gralam was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault at 3.20pm on Saturday 11th October in relation to the incident. He has since been released on conditional bail.
Enquiries are ongoing and officers are continuing to appeal for information from the public.
Detective Sergeant Thomas Philpotts, of Western CID, said:
“The victim has suffered serious injuries, which are likely to have a lasting impact, and we are committed to doing all we can to achieve justice.
“The Quayside was extremely busy at the time of the incident, and I would urge anyone who was in the premises and witnessed the incident to come forward to aid our investigation."
