A man who was found hiding in a garden shed in Wilmslow has pleaded guilty to attempted burglary.
Shaun Parry, 31, of Rylstone Avenue, Chorlton, Manchester, appeared at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Monday 9 October where he pleaded guilty to attempted burglary of a dwelling.
The charge relates to an incident on St Johns Road in Wilmslow on Saturday 7 October when a caller reported a man dressed in black and wearing a balaclava was attempting to gain access to the property. Parry was spotted on home CCTV footage looking into windows and tampering with a door handle.
During a search of the nearby area, officers located Parry inside a garden shed attempting to evade police.
Parry was subsequently arrested and the next day he was charged with attempted burglary. He was remanded to appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Monday 9 October. He was further remanded to appear at Chester Crown Court on Monday 13 November for sentence.
Detective Inspector John O'Driscoll said:
“This must have been a frightening incident for the victim in this case but thanks to the swift actions of our officers, Parry was located and put to a stop.
“I hope this brings some reassurance to nearby residents and the wider community and serves as a reminder to those coming into Cheshire to commit crime that this will not be tolerated.”
