MHA The Willows Care Home new 'donation station' created by local Scout Group

A heartwarming community project which started during lockdown continues today in Mobberley.

1st Mobberley Scout Group in the North West started an initiative called 'Care for the Care Homes' whereby they were collecting donations from the local community such as books, puzzles, biscuits for the residents of care homes.

They realised they could create a 'Donation Station' drop off point at MHA The Willows (in Mobberley, Cheshire), so items could be left for a few days in quarantine and there wouldn't be a need to involve care staff having to arrange collections/drop-offs.

Alison Wright, Leader of the Scout group, put out an appeal on Facebook and someone donated a chest of drawers. Members of the Scouting team painted it with a rainbow and the Beavers added handprints with their names.

Needless to say it's been a great success and even residents' families are using it to leave items.

The Mobberley Co-op has also set-up a station in the store where people have been leaving items and the Scouting team will drop them at The Willows.
