A Cheshire health chief has reminded residents that community pharmacies across the county are open on Bank Holiday Monday (May 2nd).
Dr Andrew Wilson, clinical chair of NHS Cheshire CCG, said that pharmacists were highly-qualified healthcare professionals who were able to offer advice and over-the-counter medicines for a wide range of common ailments.
“The NHS rota for bank holiday working ensures that there will be a pharmacy open near you. There’s no need to make an appointment to see a pharmacist – and many pharmacies have private consulting rooms.”

Dr Wilson went on to advise people to call NHS 111 or visit www.111.nhs.uk if they had an urgent healthcare need that was not a 999 emergency.
“NHS 111 is staffed by trained professionals and clinicians who will direct people to the most appropriate health service. Although there are changes to some healthcare services over the bank holiday weekend, if you’re feeling unwell, there is plenty of help and advice available from NHS 111.”
