Detective Sergeant Ross Hamilton, of Northwich local policing unit, said: “The victim is still in a serious condition in hospital after sustaining injuries to his ribs and our enquiries are ongoing to establish what led to this happening.
“As part of the ongoing investigation I am keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the assault take place or have information that could be of use to us.
“I also want to encourage residents in the area to check their CCTV or dash cam footage in the early hours of Saturday 26 March and get in touch if it could assist with our enquiries.”
