Juliet Taylor launched her career as a neighbourhood police officer last month as one of 148 newly attested officers on Police Now’s National Graduate Leadership Programme.

Today, she tells us about her first real experience of working on the policing frontline. |

Juliet, originally from Lancashire, graduated from the University of Liverpool with a degree in Geology and Physical Geography and then worked as a Michelin Star pastry chef before she finally pursued her ambition of becoming a police officer. She was selected out of thousands of applicants to Police Now’s programme, which recruits, trains, and develops outstanding graduates to become leaders in society and on the policing frontline. She is currently training at Police Now’s seven-week residential academy before she permanently joins Cheshire Constabulary for the remainder of the two-year programme and beyond. Whilst on the programme, she will also work towards her Graduate Diploma in Professional Policing Practice in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University. Juliet has been sharing her ongoing experiences of Police Now’s academy and today tells us about her ‘field training’ shifts with Cheshire Constabulary’s Response team, including responding to a reported hate crime, a road traffic collision, and a domestic violence incident. You can read her full blog post here. Applications are currently open for the National Graduate Leadership Programme. |
