East Cheshire NHS Charity are pleased to offer two exclusive places for the London Marathon 2026 and give you the opportunity to take part in one of the world's most celebrated races whilst making a meaningful impact on the work of your local NHS charity.
Taking place on Sunday 26th April, the iconic 26.2mile event will see over 40,000 runners pass some of London’s most iconic landmarks, supported by thousands of spectators lining the streets of the capital.
By taking on the challenge, you will be supporting the charity who provide additional support for patients, their families and staff within the Trust to provide those extra things that make a stay in hospital that little bit better.
One person who did that this year was Macclesfield mum Helen Vye, who raised over £2,700 in aid of the Children’s Ward at Macclesfield Hospital following the care her son, Owen, received for Autoimmune Neutropenia.
She said:
"When our son was eight months old, he was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition which makes him more vulnerable to severe bacterial infections.
“As a result, we are frequently in and out of hospital as we manage his condition. One thing that has made a big impact is the care we have received on the Children's Ward."
“I'm proud of my achievement and to raise money for East Cheshire NHS Charity, to support them to continue to make a big impact on the children and families that are receiving treatment.”
A minimum fundraising target of £2,000 is required, with successful entrants provided with dedicated support from the fundraising team, a charity running top and access to a wide variety of fundraising ideas, materials and resources.
