As Knutsford enters its third lockdown, Knutsford Town Council is urging residents to shop local and avoid resorting to the big retailers or Amazon.
Sandra Curties, Town Centre and Marketing Officer, said, “Knutsford businesses and shops are once again rising to the challenge and helping the community to stay local and shop local. For those on Facebook, Knutsford Virtual High Street group is a great community resource for shops, businesses, and shoppers alike.
The website, KnutsfordHighStreet.com brings together many of our town’s businesses and offers joint home delivery with a small selection of local shops. Knutsfordhub.co.uk is also another great resource.
However, sometimes it is as easy as picking up the phone and speaking to a local shop owner – they will be more than happy to have a chat about what is in stock for safe delivery or collection. There are too many to list here so please give them a call – whether you are looking for a gift, an afternoon tea, wine or a tapas delivery, please look local”
Knutsford Market Hall’s essential traders (The Market Butcher, Household and Pet, and Jonty’s Fruit and Veg) are open giving residents an alternative to the supermarkets. They will also accept phone or text orders for joint delivery or collection. Jonty Page of Jonty’s Fruit and Veg said, “Knutsford – we’ve got you. We have fresh local produce, and we work alongside the other traders to get your order to you. Our delivery slots are supported by local volunteers, Covid-19 compliant, are free and are a lot easier to come by than the big supermarkets. Of course, you can always pop in or collect too.”
The Knutsford Voucher is also an excellent gift idea and an additional way of keeping spend local. They can be ordered via https://www.knutsfordtowncouncil.gov.uk/services/knutsford-voucher and can be redeemed in 52 independent shops and are valid for a year.
For help during lockdown (shopping, prescription collection or just someone to chat to) the local community charity We Are Knutsford can be contacted on 01565 364785 or by emailing help@weareknutsford.org
