
Detectives from Northwich have arrested three local men on suspicion of county lines drug dealing following a successful operation at Hartford train station.
The trio were all arrested on Monday 18 September as part of an ongoing investigation to tackle offenders importing class a drugs from Liverpool.
The operation began shortly after 5pm when officers stopped a 29-year-old man who had arrived at Hartford Station on the train from Liverpool. The man was found in possession of a quantity of class A drug and arrested at the scene.
A 57-year-old man who waiting in a parked car to collect the suspect was also arrested.
The third man, aged 42, was arrested at around 10.10pm, when he was stopped by officers after arriving on the train from Liverpool to Hartford.
All three occupants were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply class A drugs and are all being questioned by officers.
Detective Sergeant John Lyons, of Northwich Local Policing Unit, said:
“These arrests are part of our ongoing efforts to tackle organised crime and make Cheshire a hostile place for criminals.
“From our initial enquiries it appears that the trio are involved in County Lines drug dealing and have been transporting drugs into the Northwich area from Liverpool using the railway network.
“Thankfully, they have all been arrested and will now face the consequences of their actions.
“I hope that their arrests send out a clear message to other offenders who are planning to come to Northwich to commit crime, you will be caught, and you will face the consequences.
“I also hope that this operation provides reassurance to local residents, demonstrating that we are committed to doing all we can to tackle drugs related crime in Northwich."
