Macclesfield Household Waste Recycling Centre will be closed on September 6th and 7th to allow for essential maintenance.
Part of the site regularly suffers from pooling water and the temporary closure is needed so that engineers can carry out investigation works into the problem.
Further works to provide a long-lasting solution will then take place at a later date.
During the two-day closure, the alternative nearest sites for residents are in Bollington, off Albert Road, or in Alsager, off Hassall Road, for those traveling from further south in the borough.
The council would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure.
