Two men jailed following class A drug supply in Northwich

Two men responsible for bringing cocaine, ketamine and cannabis to Northwich from Merseyside have been jailed.

Ryan Daly, 27, from Honey Hall Road, Halewood, and Luke Davies, 31, from Park Road, Northwich, had earlier pleaded guilty to the offences and were sentenced on Monday 7 July at Chester Crown Court for their roles in the drug supply.

Daly was handed four years while Davies received four years and six months imprisonment.

The case began following an investigation launched by Northwich Proactive Team into several mobile phone numbers that had been sending hundreds of bulk text messages advertising the sale of illegal drugs in Northwich.

Officers linked the phones used to orchestrate the distribution of drugs to Daly and Davies with assistance from Operation Toxic, a partnership operation with Merseyside Police targeting county lines drug dealers.

Between 6 October 2022 and 26 April 2023, officers from Northwich Proactive Team conducted a number of warrants at addresses on Runcorn Road, Northwich; Culver Close, Hartford; Park Road, Winnington; and Honey Hall Road, Halewood.

During the warrants, officers recovered a quantity of class A and B drugs and weighing scales. A number of mobile phones were also seized containing evidence of Daly and Davies’ involvement in the sale and distribution of class A and B drugs.

During the warrant at Honey Hall Road, officers found a dog which had been left for an unreasonable amount of time without access to food or water. The floor was also soiled with dog faeces and urine. The dog was taken from the address by officers for its own welfare.

On Wednesday 26 April, the men were arrested in Northwich on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

Davies was located in Rudheath and upon arrest he was found in possession of ten wraps of cocaine which were for onward supply.

Daly was arrested in Weaverham and in possession of a large quantity of cash.

Both were subsequently charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine, ketamine, and cannabis.

Daly was also charged with failing to ensure the needs of a dog are met and has since been banned from owning a dog for four years.

PC Matthew Uren of Northwich Proactive Team said:

“Daly and Davies thought they could establish a drug supply line into the heart of the town, yet little did they know we were hot on their trail.

“We were able to provide a catalogue of evidence against both Daly and Davies in order to put them before the courts which led them to plead guilty to the offences put to them.

“Illegal drugs can have a devastating impact on not only drug users, but the community around them.

“In Northwich, we are doing all we can to stop drug activity on our streets to make the town a safer place to live and visit while also making it extremely difficult for these gangs to operate.
