Detectives investigating a commercial burglary at a retail store in Northwich have arrested two people.
Earlier today, Wednesday 8th October, officers from Northwich Proactive CID conducted a warrant at an address in Kirkby, Merseyside, leading to the arrest of a 39-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man.
The pair are both being held in custody on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary other than in a dwelling
The arrests follow an incident at the Tesco Express store in Weaverham at around 12.30am on Monday 16th June 2025.
During the incident, three offenders deliberately rammed the store on Northwich Road with a silver 4x4 and stole a large quantity of cash.
Following the arrests, Police Constable Dan Lee of Northwich Proactive CID, who has led the investigation, said:
“This has been a complex investigation, and I would like to thank the public for all the support and information they provided.
“I hope today’s arrests will provide reassurance to local residents and businesses, and also demonstrate our commitment to relentlessly pursuing and bringing to justice those who commit crime in our communities within Cheshire.”
