Detectives investigating a series of high-value thefts across Cheshire have arrested two people.
Over the past month police have received reports of 25 incidents involving the theft of cigarettes from retail stores.
Incidents have been reported in Warrington, Runcorn, Holmes Chapel, Northwich, Winsford, Widnes and Alderley Edge.
Detectives from the Northwich Beat Team have been carrying out an investigation.
As part of ongoing enquiries, officers have arrested two people in Runcorn.
The 35-year-old man and 14-year-old boy, who are from the Runcorn area, were arrested on Tuesday 26 October on suspicion of robbery.
They are currently in police custody being questioned by officers.
