Detectives investigating an altercation between a number of men in Nantwich town centre have charged two people.
Both defendants appeared at Warrington Magistrates' Court on Monday 10 August.
Biddle was released on conditional bail, The 17-year-old was remanded in Youth Detention Accommodation.
The pair are next set to appear at Chester Crown Court on Monday 7 August.
Kian Biddle, aged 18, along with a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were both arrested in the early hours of Saturday 8 August following an incident in the Beam Street area of the town.
The pair have since been charged with Section 18 assault by joint enterprise, possession of an offensive weapon and affray.
Biddle was also charged with criminal damage while the 17-year-old has also been charged with possession of a class A drug.
Biddle, of Clover Croft Place, Crewe, and the 17-year-old boy, also from Crewe, have both been remanded in custody and are set to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court later today, Monday 10 August.
A 22-year-old from man from Shavington who was arrested during the incident has been released under investigation pending further enquiries. While a 17-year boy from Holmes Chapel was issued with a Cannabis warning.
ORIGINAL APPEAL:
Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward following an altercation between a number of men in Nantwich.
At around 12.15am on Saturday 8 August officers were called to reports of an incident in the Beam Street area of the Town.
Officers attended the scene and on arrival they found there had been a dispute involving groups of men.
Two men were injured during the incident and they were taken to Leighton Hospital.
The 18-year-old from Sandbach and 17-year-old from Burslam have both since been discharged.
Four people were arrested at the scene in connection with the incident, they included:
• a 17-year-old boy from Crewe arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and possession of Class A and B drugs
• a 18-year-old boy from Crewe arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon
• a 22-year-old man from Shavington arrested on suspicion of affray and assaulting an emergency services worker
• a 17-year-old boy from Holmes Chapel arrested on suspicion of affray
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone with any information which may aid the investigation.
Detectives Sergeant Steven Smith from Crewe Local Policing Unit said: “This incident occurred outside a number of busy pubs and I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed what took place to get in touch.
“I’d also like to hear from any taxi drivers, or other motorists, who were driving in the Beam Street area at the time of the incident and thinks they may have dashcam footage which may be relevant to the investigation.
“I would ask anyone with information or footage that may aid the investigation to call us on 101 quoting IML 774470.”
