The Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) at Victoria Infirmary, Northwich has been officially rated Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), following a recent inspection which praised the service’s effectiveness, compassionate care, and leadership.
This strong rating recognises the vital role the MIU plays in the heart of the community, providing fast, high-quality care for people with minor injuries and urgent needs, close to home.
The CQC praised the unit and the staff for delivering safe and compassionate care, as well as clearly showing a commitment to responding to the diverse needs of the local community.
While the report also noted areas for further development, the Trust has already taken steps to address these and will continue to build on the progress made.
Ian Moston, Chief Executive Officer said:
“This is a proud day for our organisation and our local community. This ‘Good’ rating for our Minor Injuries Unit at VIN is well-earned and reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire team. We’re delighted the CQC has recognised this, and we’re committed to driving even further improvement.
Megan Nurse, Chair, added:
“The MIU’s success is a real example of how local healthcare services can thrive when powered by dedicated staff and community trust. This rating is not just a reflection of where we are now, but a sign of our ambition to keep getting better. We thank our colleagues for their continued efforts, and the community for their support.”
