The Cheshire Walking Festival is a one-day community walking event taking place on Saturday 3rd April 2027 in the heart of Cheshire's golden triangle, headquartered at the De Trafford Arms on Congleton Road in Alderley Edge.
Eight guided walks set off throughout the day, from a £5 beginner walk to the 12-mile Barry Clark Challenge Walk at £25. Every walk starts and finishes in the village and is led by a qualified Mountain Leader or Hill and Moorland Leader. There is something for everyone on the programme, including women-only walks, a dog-friendly walk, navigation taster sessions, and a free talk on what to pack for a guided hike.
The festival is a not-for-profit community event organised by Guided Outdoor Adventuring CIC, supported by Alderley Edge Parish Council. All profits are split equally between Christie's Cancer Charity, Cheshire Search and Rescue, and Guided Outdoor Adventuring CIC.
