Officers are appealing for witnesses and footage following a burglary at a commercial premises in Macclesfield.
At around 2.50am on Wednesday 22 November, police were called to reports of a burglary at the Co-op store in Ivy Road.
Officers attended to find the store had been broken into and the ATM had been targeted. A large amount of cash was stolen.
Due to smoke coming from the premises, the EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) team attended the scene but after an assessment, they were not required.
A scene guard was put in place while enquiries were conducted.
It is believed a black vehicle and a silver vehicle may have been involved in the incident, which both made off in the direction of Ivy Lane between shortly after 2.50am and shortly after 3am.
As part of their investigation, officers are now asking members of the public to get in touch if they have any information which may aid enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Keith Graham said:
“Our investigation is in its early stages, and we would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious or witnessed the incident to get in touch with us.
“The same goes for anyone with any CCTV, dashcam, or video doorbell footage which could help our enquiries.”
