Macclesfield-based ProQuant Estimating is helping to lead the way in carbon offsetting with the UK’s first ever climate positive carbon offsetting residential construction estimation tool.
Local MP, David Rutley, visited the company recently to see how effective and simple the tool is in helping to fight climate change.
During his visit, David learned about the residential estimating service ProQuant provides, which now includes the new carbon calculator at no extra cost to clients. The carbon offsetting estimation tool calculates the exact tonnage of embodied carbon emissions for each building project, ensuring that ProQuant’s customers have greater confidence when working to deliver climate positive projects. This also gives residential builders, architects and building merchants the opportunity to win new business by promoting their own climate positive credentials.
The company’s founders, Donald Campbell, Oliver Wilcox and Grant Lithgow explained how a new construction project, such as an extension or new build, can be made climate positive by planting additional trees on top of the minimum amount required for carbon neutrality. The fulfilment of carbon offsetting and tree planting is delivered by Ecologi, ProQuant’s exclusive climate positivity partner. As a social enterprise, Ecologi is committed to tackling climate change through carbon offsetting solutions.
With over 30 years of working in the domestic construction trade, ProQuant is the UK’s leading domestic online estimating service. Located at Tytherington Business Park, Macclesfield and employing 30 people, the company continues to innovate and works to offer the building industry the best possible tools to help succeed with their tenders. This local business has a clear and positive commitment to proactively addressing the challenges of carbon emissions and seeks to encourage key industry players to take responsibility for their own carbon impact.
Following the meeting, David said, “I was pleased to meet the ProQuant team and to see how easy and simple their new carbon calculator tool is to use. This unique product is a welcome innovation, which helps homeowners and businesses in the residential building industry to more easily play their part in the fight against climate change. ProQuant, and its partner, Ecologi, are providing a great opportunity for businesses in the industry to help cut carbon emissions.”
