Residents are being invited to help shape the next stage of Cheshire East's new Local Plan by registering their interest in the next Community Assembly.
The assembly forms part of Cheshire East Council's ongoing programme of engagement and will bring residents together to discuss key elements of the emerging Local Plan.
Building on discussions held during the first Local Plan Community Assembly in August, participants will be invited to explore a future vision for Cheshire East, focusing on housing growth requirements, broad development strategy options and the principles that should guide how the borough develops in the future.
Councillor Mick Warren, Cheshire East Council's cabinet member for planning, housing and regeneration, said:
"The new Local Plan will play an important role in shaping how Cheshire East grows and develops in the years ahead and it is important that local people continue to be involved in those conversations.
"Following our ‘scoping’ stage this Community Assembly will give residents the opportunity to discuss some of the key choices and priorities that will help inform the next stages of the Local Plan, including what our future vision for Cheshire East should be and the principles that should guide future development.
"We are particularly keen to hear from younger residents aged 18 to 25. The decisions made through the Local Plan will affect future generations, so it is important that younger voices are represented as we plan for the future of Cheshire East."
People interested in taking part in future Community Assemblies and other opportunities to help shape council plans, policies and services are encouraged to sign up through Community Voices, the council’s resident panel.
Community Voices members can be invited to take part in Community Assemblies, surveys, consultations, focus groups and other engagement opportunities on topics that matter to Cheshire East residents.
Places at Community Assemblies are allocated to help ensure a broad range of views and experiences are represented in the discussions.
